I'm going to the Big Island for a week starting Tuesday and I plan to see everything I can. Is there anything I should see thats not mentioned in the guide books?

Rock-piling is a sacred Hawaiian practice.

This is ohelo berry, very tasty and one of the main foods of the Hawaiian goose, the nene (prnounced nay-nay). The berries make a great jam.

Nice shot; the whitish colored stuff is sulfur deposited on the rock by the sulfur dioxide-laden steam escaping from the crater's cracks.
